Simon Cooper is a UK Registered Trade Mark Attorney and a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney, as well as being a UK and European Patent Attorney. He holds a 1st class Masters of Physics degree from the University of Manchester, and has over 10 years of experience in IP.
Simon manages the Trade Marks team of AdamsonJones, which is particularly experienced in branding for technology companies. Simon advises a wide range of different companies in respect of trade mark protection, as well as on patents and registered designs in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, medical devices and electronics. Simon obtains patent, trade mark and design protection for clients, and provides advice regarding freedom to operate and IP strategy. Simon is also experienced in contentious matters.
Simon is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA), and a member of the European Patents Institute (EPI), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the International Trademark Association (INTA), and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Simon is responsible for the operational systems of AdamsonJones, and sits on the Board of Directors.
David Gwilliam obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry & Genetics from The University of Nottingham, followed by a Master of Science degree in Cancer Immunotherapy from the same university. David’s research involved studies into the effect of cytokine signalling on naïve CD4+ T-cell activation. Following completion of his studies in 2007, David worked in industry, for MedImmune UK Ltd, before joining AdamsonJones in July 2008. David qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2012 and is also extensively involved in the firm's trade mark practice.
