Chris MacDonald holds a 1st class MEng degree in Automotive Engineering from the University of Leeds, the third year of which was spent studying at the University of California, Berkeley. On graduation from Leeds, Chris received the IMechE best project and best student certificates and the WABCO prize for Automotive Engineering.
Chris also holds an MSc in Management of Intellectual Property from Queen Mary University of London.
Prior to joining AdamsonJones, Chris had, since 2005, trained and worked at a London-based firm, where he qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2009 and a UK Chartered Patent Attorney in 2010. His experience includes patent and registered design filing and prosecution work for a variety of clients, ranging from individuals to large multinationals.Chris has experience of a wide range of technology including oil and gas exploration, power tools, medical and healthcare devices and food packaging. Chris also has experience of freedom-to-operate assessments, due diligence exercises and EPO Oppositions.
Chris is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and a member of the European Patents Institute (EPI).
