More than a marathon for Team AJ
1st June 2015
When we meet colleagues and associates around the world and tell them that AdamsonJones is based in Nottingham, it is never long before the words “Robin Hood” are mentioned.
The latest effort by the AJ fundraising team saw them follow Robin’s footsteps by undertaking a challenging 27 mile walk through Sherwood Forest, from Edwinstowe, where Robin and Maid Marian are said to have been married, past the Major Oak, fabled meeting place of the Merry Men, and returning via Robin Hood’s cave in Walesby.
Chairman, Steve Jones, who has just recently recovered from a knee operation, led the charge and set a blistering pace – literally! The team completed the challenge in 10.5 hours, which included several pit-stops for refuelling and rehydrating on cake and caffeine respectively.
So far Team AJ have raised just over £1,500 for the charity Practical Action, which uses technology to help around a million people in developing countries break out of the cycle of poverty.
