New option for patent protection in Morocco
23rd March 2015
It is now (since 1 March 2015) possible to validate the legal effects of a European patent/patent application in Morocco. This only applies to applications filed after 1 March 2015. Validation is subject to the payment of a validation fee (EUR 240), which must be paid within six months of the date on which the European Patent Bulletin mentions the publication of the European search report, or, where applicable, within the period for performing the acts required for an international application’s entry into the European phase.
It is not yet clear what action will be required (fees, filing of translation etc) for a European patent to take effect in Morocco once granted.
